Case Study: KPMG achieves faster relief fund disbursement and improved federal grant tracking with Microsoft Power BI

A Microsoft Power BI Case Study

Preview of the KPMG Case Study

KPMG helps accelerate relief fund disbursement, improves tracking and management of federal grants

KPMG was engaged to accelerate disbursement and improve tracking of $3.58 billion in Coronavirus Relief Fund aid for the State of Georgia under an aggressive three‑week timeline. To meet rapidly evolving eligibility and reporting requirements, KPMG and partner GrantCare built a grant‑management platform on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and extended it with Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Microsoft Power BI and Power Apps.

Using Microsoft Power BI for real‑time dashboards and Power Apps to templatize views and automate workflows, KPMG and GrantCare launched the solution in three weeks, enabling the Office of Planning and Budget to track every dollar, automate notifications and approvals, and increase public transparency. The platform processed $3.58 billion in CRF aid, reduced manual reporting effort, improved compliance and decision‑making, and could save millions in taxpayer dollars while positioning KPMG to offer a repeatable managed grant‑management service.
