JTI achieves unique companywide solution delivery using Microsoft 365

Japan Tobacco International (JTI), a global tobacco and vaping manufacturer with more than 44,000 employees and products in 130+ countries, faced a major challenge: upgrading its ERP for over 10,000 users across more than 70 countries without the lengthy country-by-country rollout previously used. To modernize and accelerate the program JTI adopted the Microsoft 365 productivity cloud and tools, including Microsoft Power BI as part of the solution, alongside Teams, Project Online, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Azure.

Using Microsoft Power BI together with Project Online, SharePoint, Teams, Power Automate and Power Apps, JTI centralized documents, automated workflows, integrated country task lists into Teams, and surfaced progress on a Power BI dashboard—enabling a coordinated, simultaneous global go‑live. The approach mobilized more than 2,000 people across 70 locations, tracked a core global plan of 8,200 tasks and 17,000 unique tasks centrally, and delivered a faster, standardized ERP rollout to 10,000 users across 70+ countries, demonstrating measurable time savings and improved project visibility.
