International workspace provider draws on Azure and IoT to boost employee wellbeing and efficiency

HB Reavis, an international workspace provider, needed a robust, scalable data platform to transform traditional real estate into people‑centric “workspace as a service” offerings and to understand how office space is used. To meet this challenge it deployed IoT sensors and a cloud analytics stack built on Azure (Azure IoT Hub, Azure SQL Database, Azure Stream Analytics) with visualization and reporting through Microsoft Power BI.

Over a three‑month implementation, Microsoft Power BI dashboards and the Azure‑based solution turned sensor feeds into actionable workspace insights that improved office design and operations; general employee satisfaction rose from 63% to 71% (79% among newcomers). The live system now supports better collaboration, socialization, and wellbeing, and HB Reavis is expanding use cases and planning Microsoft‑enabled AI for further optimization.
