Installing Dynamics 365 Business Central to unify accounting, sales, purchasing, and inventory

Tanaka Scientific Limited, a 127‑year‑old Japanese manufacturer of petroleum testing equipment with sales agents in 30 countries and over 70% of revenue from exports, faced severe “work individualization”: accounting, sales, purchasing, and inventory were fragmented across legacy, Japanese‑only systems and Excel, and critical knowledge rested with very few staff. To unify operations, enable multilingual cloud access, and improve work succession, Tanaka chose Dynamics 365 Business Central and Power BI from Microsoft (vendor: Microsoft Power BI) as its ERP and BI solution.

Working with partner Pacific Business Consulting, Tanaka implemented a non‑customized, cloud Dynamics 365 Business Central build and went live in August 2019 after a sub‑six‑month rollout. Microsoft Power BI now pulls data directly from Business Central to produce automated, shareable dashboards, replacing manual Excel reports, giving management real‑time visibility for decision‑making, reducing dependence on individual staff, and establishing a scalable foundation for future production control and overseas integrations.
