Hugh Baird College gets students work-ready with Office 365

Hugh Baird College, a large further-education provider in Liverpool with more than 5,000 students, needed to make learners work-ready by upskilling them on the technology used in the workplace. After trialling platforms, the college adopted the Microsoft 365 ecosystem—Microsoft Teams, Office 365 and Power BI—provided by Microsoft Power BI to standardize tools, simplify staff workflows and improve student engagement and accessibility.

Microsoft Power BI helped implement Teams for collaboration, Office 365 for accessible classrooms and Power BI analytics to track the student lifecycle and “future cast” final-year outcomes with a high degree of accuracy. The adoption drove college-wide gains: higher student engagement, better behaviour and attendance, improved grades, stronger pastoral care and leveled access for SEN students—benefiting the college’s 5,000+ learners and informing interventions with data-driven insights.
