Case Study: HP Inc. achieves self-service analytics and automated printer replenishment with Microsoft Power BI

A Microsoft Power BI Case Study

Preview of the HP Case Study

How HP Inc. enhances data analytics with Power BI

HP faced the challenge of managing ink and toner replenishment data across multiple retail partners and thousands of connected printers with no dedicated analytics team. To give employees timely, easy access to actionable information and remove dependence on developers for reports, HP turned to Microsoft Power BI to build a user-friendly, analytics-driven auto-replenishment solution that integrates IoT and multi-retail data.

Using Microsoft Power BI, HP implemented a searchable, self-service database with five role-specific dashboards (program overview, sales, marketing, events, and printer analytics). The Power BI deployment let nontechnical staff produce their own reports, freed engineers and data scientists from routine report generation, and provided an end-to-end view of enrollment and ordering so marketing can measure campaign response more quickly—boosting productivity, reporting flexibility, and the team’s ability to scale the service globally.
