Healthcare network prioritizes staff and patient health with cloud-based tools

Mountain Park Health Center, a large Arizona nonprofit serving roughly 90,000 patients annually, faced a fragmented, outdated IT environment that hampered security, communication, and the ability to scale telehealth and remote work—challenges made urgent by COVID-19. To modernize and consolidate its stack, the organization adopted Microsoft cloud tools including Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Azure, and analytics with Microsoft Power BI.

Using Microsoft Power BI dashboards plus Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, and Azure security services, Mountain Park centralized its intranet and incident workflows, automated compliance tasks, and gained real‑time visibility into patient access and clinic operations. The rollout enabled 1,000 televisits per day, a 500% spike in Teams use, an intranet that logged 3,800 visits on launch and ~2,500 daily thereafter, and rapid identification of falling vaccination rates that led to targeted outreach and about 100 pediatric visits per day. Microsoft Power BI’s visualizations and the broader Microsoft toolset also streamlined incident management and strengthened defenses (MFA, Azure Sentinel, and E5 protections) as the organization expanded remote work.
