Greek industrial giant unifies its teams with a digital workplace

Mytilineos, an Athens-based industrial leader in metallurgy, energy, and gas trading, needed to unify three formerly separate subsidiaries after a major 2017 reorganization and create a digital workplace to support collaboration across geographies. To achieve this they deployed Microsoft technologies — notably Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Power BI — to enable file sharing, remote working, and consolidated reporting.

Using Microsoft Power BI alongside Microsoft 365 and Teams, Mytilineos built a common digital workplace that improved cross-company collaboration, reduced paper use, and made flexible working the norm; Microsoft Power BI in particular improved report quality and cut time spent gathering data. The solution cut business travel time by 20%, consolidated 13 TB of company data on OneDrive for Business, and spawned over 100 internal virtual teams — measurable steps toward the CEO’s “One MYTILINEOS” vision.
