A Microsoft Power BI Case Study
G&J Pepsi, the largest family‑owned Pepsi franchise bottler serving Ohio and Kentucky, faced a steep digital divide: two‑thirds of its 1,600 employees are firstline workers who relied on paper instructions while headquarters had digital tools. After provisioning ~1,200 iPhones and Office 365 accounts, the company struggled to manage and secure a sixfold surge in endpoints (growing from ~450 to ~2,700 devices) and to provide seamless access to on‑premises and cloud applications. To close the gap they turned to Microsoft cloud solutions — including Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security, Intune, Azure Active Directory Premium and Microsoft Power BI — with guidance from partner Interlink Cloud Advisors.
Interlink and Microsoft deployed Intune and Azure AD Premium to enroll and manage mobile devices, enable single sign‑on to business apps, and deliver Office 365 collaboration tools so field and office staff share one source of truth; G&J Pepsi enrolled 1,200 smartphones (about five minutes per device) and centralized control of ~2,700 devices. The Microsoft stack increased collaboration, reduced execution errors that cost sales, kept merchandisers in the field by enabling remote updates, and let a small IT team manage broad services. G&J Pepsi also built a mashup using Microsoft Power BI and Office 365 with Yammer to give merchandisers real‑time stock analytics and social insights—an application that improved decision making and opened a potential new revenue stream.
