WMF Group, the global leader in fully automatic professional coffee machines, needed to centralize and analyze machine data to give customers actionable insights—everything from brewing and usage patterns to maintenance status—so chains with many locations could optimize sales and enable predictive maintenance. To meet this challenge WMF Group partnered with Oraylis and Microsoft Power BI, implementing Azure IoT solution accelerators, Azure SQL Database, the Cortana Intelligence Suite, and Power BI to connect machines to a single digital platform.

The vendor built an Azure-based data warehouse and bidirectional platform (WMF CoffeeConnect and Schaerer Coffee Link) that delivers role-based dashboards, a Know-how Center, remote recipe and promotion controls, and predictive maintenance tools. Microsoft Power BI dashboards and Azure services let sales teams run targeted offers, technicians pre-stage correct spare parts, and WMF plan service during low-sales periods; the solution will connect over 140,000 machines and transform WMF Group from a manufacturer into a digital solution provider.
