A Microsoft Power BI Case Study
Financial Fabric, a New York–based provider of big data analytics and reporting for hedge funds and institutional investors, needed a secure, scalable way to consolidate disparate data sources, reduce manual reconciliation, and meet growing regulatory and cost pressures. To deliver institutional‑grade business intelligence and secure reporting, Financial Fabric built its DataHub on Microsoft cloud services and used Microsoft Power BI for interactive dashboards and client reporting.
Using Microsoft Power BI together with Azure components (Azure SQL Database with Always Encrypted, Azure Active Directory, Azure Virtual Machines, and SQL Server Analysis Services), Financial Fabric automated data ingestion, cleansing, normalization, and secure storage so users can self-serve analytics and collaborate without exposing sensitive information. The solution cut implementation time to about four weeks (versus the typical 6–18 months), eliminated much manual reconciliation, scaled to handle thousands more trades without added headcount, and delivered stronger data protection and faster, data‑driven decision making.
