E.ON democratizes data analytics for 12,000 employees, generates key reports in minutes instead of days

E.ON, a major European energy provider, needed a faster way to deliver timely, reliable data to support decisions across its distributed business. Using Microsoft Power BI with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365, the company set out to replace manual, multi-source reporting and improve collaboration and data access for thousands of employees.

Microsoft Power BI helped E.ON automate recurring reports, create live PowerPoint presentations, and share insights directly in Teams, supported by Microsoft Entra ID for access control. The result was a major jump in efficiency: one customer-status reporting process that previously took two to three days now takes less than an hour, and nearly 12,000 employees were using Power BI by the second half of 2023.
