Veolia Environnement S.A., a French transnational environmental services company focused on water, waste, and energy, faced fragmented data silos and inconsistent customer reporting that forced customers to rebuild monthly spreadsheets and left executives disputing numbers. Using Azure for a modern end-to-end data architecture and Microsoft Power BI for visualization and embedded reporting, Veolia consolidated data, implemented row-level security, and replaced thousands of custom SSRS reports with one standard, daily‑refreshing report delivered through a customer portal. The reporting team grew from 4 to 20, the solution supports more than 15,000 employees and over 30,000 customer users, eliminated spreadsheet delivery, and boosted customer differentiation and monetization by turning analytics into a core value-add.
