The Environment Agency, a large UK government body, needed to be smarter with its data to drive efficiencies, become more proactive and predictive, improve service delivery, and better protect the environment. To do this it adopted Microsoft Power BI alongside Azure (including Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse and Azure OpenAI), Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) and Dynamics 365.

Microsoft Power BI helped deliver an integrated data platform built on Azure and leveraging the Power Platform and Dynamics 365 to enable business-led improvement and innovation. The implementation produced measurable results — time efficiencies up to 80%, faster innovation that kick-started a digital twin project for decarbonisation, and a scalable platform for further improvements and AI adoption.
