Ensign Drilling increases productivity and the value of operational data with ShookIOT Fusion powered by Azure

Ensign Drilling, one of Canada’s largest drilling services companies, needed to get more value from growing volumes of operational data and improve machine‑health monitoring, performance reporting, and automated alerting. To modernize its legacy historian and scale analytics for global operations, Ensign Drilling worked with ShookIOT to deploy ShookIOT Fusion Cloud Historian on Microsoft Azure alongside Microsoft Power BI for enterprise analytics and visualization.

ShookIOT installed Ignition connectors to stream rig tag data into the cloud historian, centralized operational data, and enabled fast retrieval, ML‑based data classification, and automated reporting—so tag data began flowing into Azure within minutes and users could interact with data immediately. The solution improved data access, service delivery, and productivity while providing scalable, secure cloud management; Microsoft Power BI was used to surface visualizations and analytics for faster, better decision‑making across the business.
