Case Study: ANSYS achieves accelerated digital-twin insights and reduced maintenance costs with Microsoft Power BI

A Microsoft Power BI Case Study

Preview of the ANSYS Case Study

Engineering simulation giant Ansys unlocks value and opportunity with Azure Digital Twins

ANSYS, maker of the Twin Builder simulation platform, needed to extend its physics‑based simulations into operational use by combining model-driven engineering with analytics‑driven digital twins. To do this, ANSYS partnered with Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Azure services—including Azure Digital Twins and Azure IoT Hub—to capture and analyze real‑time data from deployed products.

Using Azure Digital Twins and Azure IoT Hub to blend continuous IoT sensor data with physics‑based models, and leveraging Microsoft Power BI for visualization and insights, ANSYS produced granular product‑iteration intelligence. The Microsoft Power BI‑enabled solution opened new revenue opportunities, significantly reduced the time required to produce digital twins, improved product performance, and cut maintenance costs for ANSYS customers.
