Embracing the cloud in sunny California a city’s story of digital transformation

City of Corona faced the need to modernize with a small IT staff, siloed applications, burdensome multiple logins, and the requirement for resilient, government-compliant infrastructure to support services and economic development. To address these challenges the city partnered with Microsoft Power BI (via Microsoft FastTrack and Catapult Systems) and adopted Azure Government and Office 365 as part of a cloud-first strategy.

Using Microsoft Power BI alongside Azure Active Directory, AD FS single sign-on, Office 365, Azure Backup and Site Recovery, the vendor helped the City of Corona break down silos, enable mobile access, and protect mission‑critical systems; AD FS was brought up in less than three weeks. The result is cross‑agency visibility with Power BI dashboards for managers, faster deployments, improved security and disaster resilience, and a more cost‑effective analytics capability that eliminated the need for expensive legacy BI licenses.
