ELFT powers quality improvements using Power BI and Microsoft Azure

East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT), a UK health provider, wanted to break down data silos and give frontline clinicians better access to timely, useful information for quality improvement. Working with Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Azure, the Trust aimed to create a single, secure place for staff to access data and support its statistical process control approach across services.

Microsoft Power BI and Azure helped ELFT build real-time dashboards and an integrated data foundation that clinicians can use on any device, including mobile. The impact has included major time savings in ward audits, cutting one task from four hours to about one hour, faster access to data for “time to think” sessions, improved data quality, and better operational decisions such as tracking capacity and anticipating incidents. Microsoft’s tools also supported new analytics workflows and helped the Trust develop internal cloud and analytics skills.
