Elcatex uses Microsoft PaaS to optimize its digital environment and transform its workplace culture

Elcatex, a Honduran conglomerate of more than 30 companies and over 10,000 employees, needed to modernize a fragmented digital environment spread across two physical datacenters, reduce manual payroll work, and gain real-time visibility for operations. To address this, Elcatex partnered with Microsoft Power BI and the broader Microsoft PaaS stack — leveraging Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, Dynamics 365 Business Central and Microsoft 365 — to migrate data and workstations to the cloud and standardize systems.

Elcatex moved databases and applications to Azure, implemented Azure App Service and Azure SQL Database to host payroll and web apps, deployed Dynamics 365 Business Central for operations, and used Microsoft Power BI to merge and visualize data from Business Central and SQL Server. The solution automated monthly payroll for 10,000+ employees (removing at least 10 hours of manual work), migrated 2,000+ workstations to Microsoft 365, improved scalability and infrastructure cost efficiency, and delivered executive dashboards that sped decision-making and drove a company-wide cultural shift toward data-driven operations.
