Education Provider Pushes Boundaries of its Cloud-based Services to Gain Students

Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec), a New Zealand higher-education provider serving about 20,000 students, needed to adopt a sales-oriented culture to stay competitive, better manage prospective students and engage local employers. To unify fragmented reporting and improve recruitment and relationship management, Wintec moved to cloud-based Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online and adopted Microsoft Power BI for business analytics and reporting.

Working with partners, Wintec implemented a multi-device enrollment portal linked to Microsoft Power BI and Dynamics CRM, plus custom visualizations that capture leads live and deliver interactive dashboards to staff. Microsoft Power BI enabled sales and support teams to slice-and-dice data, nurture leads, forecast more accurately and gain full pipeline visibility—driving higher conversion rates, improved forecasting and stronger engagement with hundreds of employers and Wintec’s student community.
