Edsby, a cloud-based K‑12 learning management system used by nearly 2 million teachers, administrators, parents, and students across almost 11,000 schools and districts, needed to add advanced analytics to address the full spectrum of student learning while keeping pricing appropriate for education customers. To meet that challenge, Edsby turned to Microsoft Power BI, using Power BI Embedded on Azure to integrate analytics directly into its web portal.

By embedding Microsoft Power BI (Power BI Embedded) dashboards and .pbix files into the Edsby experience—connecting to student information systems, assessment scores, and platform usage—Edsby reduced about 80% of the development effort, delivered secure, role‑targeted visualizations, and launched a monetizable premium analytics add‑on. The result: more affordable, actionable analytics for schools, new revenue opportunities with education departments, and improved ability for educators to spot trends and drive better student outcomes.
