DTEK revamps debt management with Microsoft Power Platform

DTEK, Ukraine’s largest private energy company, faced a severe cashflow crisis after the 2022 conflict as unpaid accounts receivable surged. To respond rapidly without lengthy procurement, DTEK turned to Microsoft Power BI and the broader Microsoft Power Platform (including Power Apps and Microsoft Teams) to segment customers and design tailored debt-repayment plans.

Using a cloud-based Power Platform solution with Microsoft Power BI for reporting, DTEK integrated more than 100 apps into a single interface, deployed the system in five months with a two-person team, and enabled 550 active users to access a 200,000+ customer database remotely. The solution delivered daily debt reports (instead of bi-weekly), three-month cash-flow forecasts, and targeted collections—driving a 90% improvement in debt collection and recovering UAH 40 million in 2022.
