Rand Mutual Assurance, a long-established South African mutual insurer, faced an ageing, costly ICT environment that lacked the scalability to support rapid growth and expansion across Africa. To modernize its operations and improve efficiency, RMA migrated core systems to Microsoft Azure and Office 365 and adopted analytics capabilities with Microsoft Power BI, with implementation support from partner iSolve.

Working with iSolve and using Microsoft Power BI alongside Azure and Office 365, RMA completed the migration in four months, trained 300+ staff, and tightened security and compliance controls. The move removed legacy infrastructure, delivered immediate performance improvements and high availability for the CompCare claims system, and cut ongoing IT operational expenditure by almost 19%, while enabling faster, cost‑effective expansion.
