Case Study: Rx.Health achieves scalable, secure digital-health unification and actionable patient insights with Microsoft Power BI

A Microsoft Power BI Case Study

Preview of the Rx.Health Case Study

Digital health provider creates a scalable unification platform for healthcare and life science with Azure-based technology

Rx.Health, a small U.S. digital health provider, faced fragmentation across mobile apps and EHRs plus the need for secure, scalable patient engagement and monitoring. To unify digital care pathways and meet compliance requirements (HIPAA, GDPR), Rx.Health built its platform on Microsoft Azure and adopted Microsoft Power BI for analytics and dashboards to track patient activation, engagement, and operational performance.

Using a suite of Azure services (App Service, Cosmos DB, Data Lake, API for FHIR, Logic Apps, Health Bot, VMs) and Microsoft Power BI for reporting, Rx.Health rapidly deployed solutions such as the STOP COVID NYC bot and scalable digital care pathways. The results: the bot reached more than 1 million people and enrolled 55,000 in eight weeks, digital prescriptions grew from 500,000 in 2019 to 2.5 million in 2020, measurable reductions in no-shows/readmissions and hospital stays, and estimated savings of $1 million per service line—outcomes enabled by Microsoft Power BI–backed analytics.
