Dr. August Oetker Nahrungsmittel KG, a global consumer goods company with more than 10,000 employees, needed a better way to manage IT security and compliance across around 40 country organizations. With security indicators spread across multiple systems, local admins were spending significant time manually gathering data and sending reminders to update operating systems, antivirus tools, and device settings. Microsoft Power BI was part of the solution they turned to for a more integrated view of their IT landscape.

Microsoft Power BI, together with Azure and the Microsoft Intelligent Data Platform, was used to build centralized dashboards that pull hourly data from back-end systems into SQL, then visualize KPIs by target group, location, and device. The new approach gave Dr. Oetker full transparency, automated compliance reporting, improved license management, and faster rollout planning, while reducing manual effort. Most importantly, the company says it increased and strengthened its security and compliance level by 40 to 50 percent.
