Case Study: Australian Consolidated Milk (ACM) achieves end-to-end milk traceability, improved quality and cost savings with Microsoft Power BI

A Microsoft Power BI Case Study

Preview of the Australian Consolidated Milk (ACM) Case Study

Dairy data floods ACM with daily goodness, ensures efficiency, and guards quality

Australian Consolidated Milk (ACM) runs a new $55 million high‑tech milk‑processing facility in Girgarre that must manage multiple milk types, enforce strict traceability, reduce human error, and control seasonal and overtime costs. To tackle these challenges ACM worked with Advance Computing and a suite of Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft Power BI (alongside Dynamics 365, Power Apps and Azure Cognitive Services), to centralize data and automate critical processes.

Advance Computing implemented an integrated Microsoft solution with Microsoft Power BI at its core for analytics and reporting, Dynamics 365 for operations and field service, Power Apps for farmer alerts, and Azure AI for quality checks. The platform automated tanker unloading, tightened controls to prevent cross‑contamination of organic milk, aggregated data from 5,000+ endpoints for real‑time visibility, and cut labor and weekend overtime (about $100,000 saved annually), while supporting processing capacity of roughly 200 million litres and faster, smarter decision‑making.
