Cruz Roja needed a fast, transparent way to show daily progress of its Cruz Roja RESPONDE Plan during the COVID-19 crisis — consolidating multiple data sources so volunteers, partners, media, public administrations and citizens could see up‑to‑date results. To meet that need the organization turned to Microsoft Power BI (supported by Azure cloud services) to publish Open Data and interactive dashboards from a single public site.

Microsoft Power BI was used to unify and visualize data while partner SDG Group built the Azure architecture (Azure SQL, Data Factory, SQL Integration Services) and Azure Machine Learning to automate daily data publishing and forecast demand. The solution delivered real‑time transparency and better decision‑making: Cruz Roja mobilized 56,561 volunteers, provided basic goods to more than 590,000 people, distributed over 7,400 devices, targeted more than 32,000 people for employment and sheltered over 6,000, all with daily public access to response metrics via Microsoft Power BI.
