Case Study: Contidis achieves rapid, actionable retail insights to build Angola’s Candando superstore chain with Microsoft Power BI

A Microsoft Power BI Case Study

Preview of the Contidis Case Study

Contidis gets the business insight it needs to build Angola’s nationwide superstore chain

Contidis is building Angola’s Candando superstore chain and needed fast, flexible business intelligence to manage inventory, pricing, promotions, and store performance across a rapidly growing operation. Their SAP for Retail setup in AWS couldn’t deliver the reporting agility required, so Contidis engaged Microsoft partner DevScope to implement a solution using Microsoft Power BI along with Azure SQL Database and Azure Analysis Services.

DevScope deployed Microsoft Power BI to consolidate data, build interactive reports and alerts, enforce row-level security, and enable mobile barcode-based price comparisons. The solution put BI in the hands of more than 100 users, consolidated 14 million records with about 10,000 sales transactions added daily, uncovered fraud and inventory errors, and reduced IT reporting overhead—while delivering estimated infrastructure savings of €3,600 per year through automated Azure scaling and faster, more actionable insights.
