To create a playful, data‑driven experience the company partnered with Microsoft Power BI, leveraging Cortana Intelligence Suite and Azure Cognitive Services to bring machine‑learning image and age recognition into the campaign.

Microsoft Power BI’s team built on the How‑Old.net experiment—using Cortana Intelligence and Azure Event/Stream services to detect bottles and estimate ages in user photos—so matched photos turned the page red and encouraged social sharing and visits to Coca‑Cola’s site. The solution tapped the viral scale of How‑Old.net (which processed about 380 million images from 50 million users), driving widespread engagement, heightened social interaction around the Coke bottle celebration, and stronger brand‑consumer connections.
