Cloud Helps Qatari Energy Innovator Accelerate Digital Transformation

Oryx Gas-to-Liquids, a Qatar-based synthetic fuel producer, needed to migrate to SAP HANA and deliver timely business reports to senior management but was constrained by aging server hardware. To accelerate analytics and reporting, the company adopted Microsoft Power BI alongside a Microsoft Azure-based approach to overcome on-premises delays and improve insight delivery.

Working with implementation partner Tyconz, Oryx GTL moved to a VM architecture hosted on Microsoft Azure, enabling the S/4HANA migration to start in 10 days instead of the three months required for new hardware, while outsourcing system management and gaining scalable, compliant infrastructure. Oryx GTL also rolled out Microsoft Power BI across its applications, speeding report development, increasing user adoption and satisfaction, and delivering higher uptime and faster access to management insights.
