A Microsoft Power BI Case Study

Preview of the Fullerton Healthcare Case Study

Care provider in Asia makes quality healthcare affordable and accessible to millions of people

Fullerton Healthcare, one of Asia’s largest managed healthcare providers serving about 10 million patients across 225 centers, faced a fragmented technology stack that threatened its goal of making quality, affordable care more accessible. To unify data and improve clinical and operational insights, it standardized on the Microsoft platform—building a single data platform on Azure and SQL Server and using analytics and machine-learning tools including Microsoft Power BI.

Working with Microsoft Services and partner KenSci, Fullerton Healthcare deployed a highly available data platform, predictive models, Power BI dashboards, Office 365 and mobile apps to streamline clinical workflows, detect errors, and give patients access to their records. The Microsoft Power BI–enabled analytics and SQL Server machine learning helped clinicians spot risks sooner and delivered measurable gains: new customers reduced costs by as much as 20%, a chronic-disease program cut claims for targeted patients by 60%, Office 365 licensing fell 12%, and the system evaluates up to a million medical transactions per second.
