A Microsoft Power BI Case Study

Preview of the Broadclyst Community Primary School Case Study

British school uses digital tools to help students excel at learning and in life

Broadclyst Community Primary School set out to modernize teaching and learning across its campus—making classrooms more engaging, improving communication with parents and international partners, and giving teachers better ways to assess and personalise learning. To do this the school deployed a suite of Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft Power BI alongside Surface Pro 4 devices, OneNote, SharePoint, Excel, Forms, Surface Hub, Skype for Business and Windows 10.

The vendor implemented a 1:1 Surface Pro 4 program and integrated tools such as OneNote Class Notebooks for collaborative lessons, SharePoint/Video and Skype for Business for broadcasting and remote participation, Forms and Excel for surveys and meal planning, and Microsoft Power BI to aggregate and analyse assessment data. The result was more interactive, collaborative classrooms, stronger parent engagement, streamlined administration (including kitchen ordering), and data‑driven teaching—teachers now use Microsoft Power BI to track progress and match work to students, improving assessment speed and personalised outcomes.
