Case Study: Ontic achieves unified project visibility and faster results tracking with Microsoft Power BI

A Microsoft Power BI Case Study

Preview of the Ontic Case Study

Aviation industry partner propels global growth with Microsoft Project

Ontic, a global provider of legacy aerospace products serving more than 5,000 customers and managing a portfolio of 6,500+ products and 1 million parts, needed better visibility and collaboration to support product line transitions and growth. To unify teams, streamline reporting, and standardize transition processes, Ontic selected Microsoft Project (Project Online and Project for the web) and complementary tools including Microsoft Power BI and Power Apps to meet its project portfolio management requirements.

Working with consultancy Wellingtone, Ontic implemented a hybrid Project Online/Project for the web environment, built a PMO portal with Power Apps, and created interactive dashboards with Microsoft Power BI to automate data extraction and reporting. The solution gave teams across seven facilities clearer project visibility, faster, shareable monthly reports for local and global leaders, reduced time spent on reporting, and more thorough product transition tracking—improving collaboration and positioning Ontic for continued growth.
