Automotive giant Scania boosts European project management efficiency

Scania CV AB, a global manufacturer of heavy trucks and buses, struggled with paper-based processes and no central way to coordinate project activities across its European units. To modernize project and portfolio management, Scania adopted Microsoft Power BI together with Microsoft Project Online and SharePoint Online to build a centralized Project and Portfolio Management portal.

Using Microsoft Power BI and Project Online (implemented with partner inzagi), Scania gained real-time visibility into projects, enabling faster, data-driven decisions; the number of successfully completed projects tripled and more work is now delivered on time and on budget. The solution also helped Scania meet internal GDPR targets and will expand with a Power BI–based dashboard to further streamline prioritization and roll out to additional units.
