Atkins, a global design, engineering and project management consultancy, set out to become “digital by default” to break down information silos and give employees rapid, self-service access to business data. To achieve this, Atkins adopted the Microsoft Office 365 E5 suite with a focus on Microsoft Power BI (alongside Yammer and Skype for Business) to democratize analytics and speed decision-making across its large, distributed workforce.

Using Microsoft Power BI as the heart of the transformation, Atkins deployed self-service dashboards and interactive visualizations within Office 365 E5 and used Yammer and Skype for Business to drive collaboration and cloud-based communications. The solution unlocked core corporate data, gave employees the ability to slice and share insights in real time, improved agility and mobility for consultants, and delivered cost and infrastructure benefits as Atkins moves toward a full cloud migration by 2020.
