Aster Insights, an oncology discovery research firm, needed to consolidate 3.5 petabytes of dispersed data into the cloud while streamlining financial management, collaboration, security, and compliance. To do this it partnered with Microsoft Power BI and the broader Microsoft platform, leveraging Microsoft Azure and related services such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Dynamics 365, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Purview, and Power BI.

Using Microsoft Power BI alongside Azure services, Aster migrated its datasets to Azure with no business disruption, improved its cybersecurity posture, and unlocked advanced analytics and collaboration. The implementation cut manual work for some processes by 90% via Dynamics 365, delivered an in‑house vulnerability scanning capability in three months, and drove mean time to detection for security threats to under one hour.
