Case Study: The Little Potato Company achieves blocked credential attacks and stronger identity protection with Microsoft Power BI

A Microsoft Power BI Case Study

Advanced threat protection and identity management are no small potatoes for family-owned agriculture company

The Little Potato Company, a family-owned Canadian produce business with about 400 employees, faced growing security risks as it expanded into the United States and more than doubled in size. To protect its environment from sophisticated attacks and support remote work, the company adopted Microsoft cloud technologies—using Azure Active Directory, Cloud App Security, Microsoft Defender ATP, Microsoft 365 E5 and business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI—to strengthen identity, device, and email security.

Using a multilayered Microsoft approach (conditional access and Azure AD Identity Protection, MFA, Intune, Defender ATP, Office 365 ATP, Windows Hello and Secure Score), the vendor’s solutions blocked multiple hijacked-credential sign-in attempts and, within minutes, locked the account, expired tokens and forced a password reset to end the attack. The Little Potato Company now reports 100% endpoint coverage with Microsoft Defender ATP, fewer password-based logins, faster secure remote access, and the BI capabilities of Microsoft Power BI included in its E5 licensing to support continued growth and visibility.
