Ecolab, a global leader in water, hygiene, and energy services, faced the challenge of helping customers across industries and 170 countries dramatically reduce water use and move toward “net‑zero” water. To do that it needed to collect real‑time data from more than 36,000 water systems, remotely control plant processes, and demonstrate clear financial return on conservation investments.

Working with Microsoft, Ecolab deployed Azure (including Azure IoT Suite and Machine Learning), Dynamics 365, Power BI and Surface devices to stream data from Nalco 3D TRASAR sensors into a secure analytics platform. The solution delivers real‑time insights to field teams, enables benchmarking across 100+ countries, quantifies customer ROI, and drives reduced water, energy and operating costs—helping customers get closer to net‑zero water.
