Renault optimizes training for its technicians with HoloLens 2 and Dynamics 365 Remote Assist

Renault Group, the global automaker operating in 134 countries, needed a better way to train technicians on increasingly complex electric vehicle battery systems. Through Renault Academy, the company had been sending trainees or instructors to training sites, which created travel costs and slowed support for customers waiting for battery repairs. Microsoft Dynamics 365 was used with HoloLens 2 and Dynamics 365 Remote Assist to address this challenge.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 enabled remote, scalable, and safe training by letting trainees learn without traveling to the academy while remote trainers viewed exactly what they saw through HoloLens 2. The results were significant: Renault Group expects to save more than €300,000 a year in travel expenses and reduce CO2 emissions from travel by 80%, while also removing a major training bottleneck.
