Pakistani manufacturing giant takes advantage of Microsoft tools to power user-centric growth

ICI Pakistan Limited, a 75‑year‑old Karachi‑based manufacturer of polyester, pharmaceuticals, agrichemicals and soda ash with about 1,700 employees, faced frequent systems downtime, manual workflows and slow, fragmented analytics that hindered daily operations and growth. The company needed a more resilient, user‑centric IT environment to reduce reliance on IT staff, enable remote work, and speed decision making.

Working with partner Scaptox, ICI migrated from its on‑premises datacenter to Microsoft Azure and adopted Microsoft 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Windows Virtual Desktop, Power BI and Dynamics 365. The move delivered zero email downtime, improved resilience during disasters, enabled seamless remote month‑end closings, rapid Teams adoption, and automated reporting—about 50 reports and 20 dashboards in Power BI—saving an estimated 3–4 man‑hours per day and empowering users to focus on higher‑value work.
