Nedbank, a South African bank with 28,600 employees across Africa, the UK and India, wanted to become a truly digital, collaborative workplace and enable people to work anywhere, anytime, on any device. The challenge was unifying a globally scattered, siloed workforce and replacing legacy telephony while managing security and driving adoption of a new way of working.
Nedbank rolled out Microsoft 365 with Microsoft Teams Phone and Teams Rooms in a phased migration (starting with champions and large retail clusters), supported by training and Viva Insights. The change made calls and meetings one click away, supported 456,000 meetings a month and a 12,000-person CEO event, enabled 60% of staff to continue working from home, sped up customer service, reduced branch maintenance and real-estate costs, and strengthened security.
