Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corporation, the healthcare arm of the Mitsubishi Chemical Group, faced growing communication challenges after COVID‑19: mask wearing and remote meetings made lipreading impossible for employees with hearing loss, while accelerating global expansion increased English communication needs and translation costs. The company needed a way to support inclusive, real‑time communication and reduce the time spent on manual translation and meeting minutes.
To address this, Mitsubishi Tanabe adopted Fairuse’s Real Time Translator—built on Microsoft Azure, Azure Cognitive Services Speech Services, and integrated with Microsoft Teams—to provide real‑time transcription and translation across multiple languages. After a successful pilot, the tool was rolled out more widely; employees reported high accuracy, easier participation in English meetings, reduced workload for minute-taking and post‑meeting translation, expanded use across sales and factory teams, and stronger support for the company’s digital transformation and work‑style reform.
