A Microsoft Dynamics 365 Case Study
Isuzu Motors Limited, a century-old global manufacturer of commercial vehicles and diesel engines, relocated its headquarters to Yokohama Gate Tower in May 2022 to enable more dynamic, diverse workstyles. The company needed to move away from a desk-tied PBX and fixed-line phones while maintaining essential features like receptionist answering and call forwarding, and supporting employees who work from home or at factory sites—options like FMC and corporate-issued smartphones proved costly or insufficient.
Isuzu adopted Microsoft Teams Phone and outfitted 130 meeting rooms with Microsoft Teams Rooms, replacing the PBX with company laptops and headsets. Integrated presence, voicemail-to-text, automated receptionist flows, and high-quality Teams Rooms made meetings and reachability seamless; relayed messages dropped, multi-person calls became easy, and deployment costs were lower than rolling out smartphones. The new system proved popular and efficient, and Isuzu plans to expand Teams Phone to factories and affiliates.
