Fastenal, North America’s largest distributor of fasteners, needed better visibility into customer interactions and tighter coordination between national, regional and support sales teams. Leadership wanted improved pipeline transparency and leaner workflows across proposal development, quoting, contract negotiation and administration to speed revenue and improve operating efficiency.
Fastenal implemented a Microsoft cloud solution—Dynamics 365 for Sales integrated with SharePoint Online, SQL Server and Office 365 (with Power BI on the roadmap)—to automate workflows, enable secure mobile access, co-edit documents, manage approvals and provide a unified customer view. Early results included stronger pipeline visibility, faster lead-to-contract cycles, higher sales productivity, confident end-user performance and clear gains in speed to revenue.
