How WE embraces digital transformation to empower social good

WE is a global nonprofit founded by Craig Kielburger that empowers youth through programs like WE Villages, WE Schools, and WE Days. With 1,200 staff and ambitions to more than double the number of schools it serves, the organization faced fragmented systems, manual processes, multiple logins, and limited digital capacity that constrained collaboration, reporting, and scalable outreach.

Partnering with Microsoft, WE migrated to a unified cloud platform using Azure, Dynamics 365, Office 365, OneNote, SharePoint, and Skype to consolidate CRM/ERP, digitize resources, and adopt an agile DevOps model. The transformation cut printing and shipping costs, sped onboarding, improved analytics and internal collaboration, enabled richer virtual engagement (including video and Skype‑enabled learning), and positioned WE to scale its global impact without proportionally increasing staff.
