Grundfos, a global leader in advanced pumping solutions, sought to overcome the immense support burden of its on-premises monitoring system. To address this challenge, Grundfos turned to Microsoft and its suite of products, including Azure IoT Hub and Dynamics 365 for Field Service, for a more efficient and flexible command and control solution.
Microsoft's solution utilized Azure IoT Hub to enable secure, real-time bidirectional communication between Grundfos pumps and monitoring consoles. This allowed the company to collect sensor data, perform remote command and control tasks, and update firmware seamlessly. The implementation, which also used Azure IoT Edge to connect older pumps, significantly reduced maintenance time and costs. For Grundfos, the Microsoft-powered system provides a global, scalable platform to predict issues, improve disaster relief, and support its mission of making clean water more accessible.
