Microsoft's solution utilized Azure IoT Hub to enable secure, real-time bidirectional communication between Grundfos pumps and monitoring consoles. This allowed the company to collect sensor data, perform remote command and control tasks, and update firmware seamlessly. The implementation, which also used Azure IoT Edge to connect older pumps, significantly reduced maintenance time and costs.
