Hempel, a Denmark‑based global coatings supplier with more than 6,500 employees across 150 locations, needed to protect large volumes of customer and asset data while also increasing transparency and collaboration. The company’s legacy “best of breed” hardware and point solutions were secure but lacked the agility to keep pace with an evolving threat landscape and growing cloud usage, so Hempel sought a cloud-first approach that balanced security, compliance and openness.

Working with partner CSIS Security Group, Hempel moved to Microsoft 365 E5 and Dynamics 365, adopting Windows Defender ATP, Azure ATP, Azure RMS and Office 365 (including Delve) as its core platform. The shift centralized security management, sped detection and response to threats, simplified compliance (GDPR) and reduced complexity, while Office 365 and Dynamics improved collaboration, productivity and customer service—helping the company “collaborate like crazy” without sacrificing trust or security.
