Gibson Energy, a large midstream energy company in Canada, faced rapid growth through acquisitions that left it with fragmented systems, manual processes, and internal silos. The company launched its “One Gibson” initiative to standardize business processes, improve internal communication, and give employees a modern, mobile work experience so teams across 225 sites could work as one.
Using a cloud-first, mobile-first Microsoft stack—Azure, Office 365, Dynamics CRM Online, Dynamics AX 2012 R3, SharePoint Online, Power BI, and Intune—Gibson consolidated infrastructure, centralized customer data, automated purchasing and inventory processes, and launched a role-based myGibsons portal. The move eliminated multiple data centers and VPN complexity, enabled real-time reporting and faster decision-making, improved collaboration and security, and created a scalable platform for future IoT and analytics initiatives.
