Renault Sport Formula One Team, based in Enstone, UK, designs and builds Renault’s Formula One chassis and transmissions and must innovate continuously to win. The team faces complex challenges: rebuilding cars each season, managing about 15,000 drawings and 4,000 components, processing roughly 35 billion telemetry data points per race weekend from 200+ sensors per car, and protecting high-value IP while coordinating engineers across sites and race locations.
To meet those needs the team adopted Microsoft Office 365 E5 with Exchange Online, SharePoint/OneDrive, Power BI, Dynamics 365 for Operations, Azure Machine Learning, and advanced security tools. The result: real-time Power BI dashboards and self-service Q&A that speed decision-making and work‑order planning, improved simulation and tire-degradation modeling via Azure ML, tighter data controls and threat detection, and better remote collaboration (plus a Skype for Business telephony POC)—delivering faster insights, stronger security, and more efficient race preparation.
