Evoqua Water Technologies, a 100+-year-old provider of water purification and management solutions to major corporations and municipalities, faced a sudden need to rebuild IT after a 2014 divestiture. The company’s challenge was to transform from an equipment supplier into a premium, data-driven water-intelligence partner by collecting real-time field-equipment data, enabling proactive service, and reducing operational costs.

Working with Microsoft and partner eLogic, Evoqua moved core systems to Azure and Office 365, implemented an IoT data pipeline (sensors → Azure HDInsight → SQL Data Warehouse → Power BI), and deployed Dynamics 365 for Sales and Field Service on rugged Windows devices for technicians. The solution delivered predictive maintenance, real-time customer dashboards, automated dispatching, new sales opportunities from the field, faster acquisition onboarding, and roughly $2.5M in annual savings (~10%), earning industry recognition for its data-driven field service.
